GT Nominations Nominations of students, in first grade and above, are currently being accepted for screening for inclusion in the Gifted and Talented (G/T) program. The Gifted and Talented program is designed to meet the needs of traditionally defined gifted students. Students selected for the G/T program demonstrate above average ability, task commitment, and creativity. The district criteria for screening for the Gifted and Talented program are based on: • Parent or teacher nomination • Iowa Test of Basic Skills (ITBS) Achievement Test or Logramos • Cognitive Abilities Test (CogAT) • Parent rating scale and questionnaire • Teacher rating scale (by Joseph Renzulli and Robert K. Hartman) If your child has already been identified as part of the Gifted and Talented program, he/she will not need further screening. If you wish for your child to be considered for the Gifted and Talented program, a nomination form is available here https://docs.google.com/document/d/1TkYtzaHahVIRRsAUYeNNts2prhzHgetA0JhZZRY2K-Q/edit?usp=sharing or in the school office. An informational meeting for parents will be held on February 23 at 5:30 p.m. in the Board Room.
